A single cartridge water filtration system, the ICE140-S from 3M is specially designed to provide high quality water for commercial ice machines by reducing cyst, bacteria, and sediment as well as chlorine taste and odor. Cartridges in this water filtration system use Integrated Membrane Pre-Activated Carbon Technology (IMPACT) dual-zone media that combines a membrane in series with premium activated carbon. A built-in scale inhibitor in this water filtration system reduces lime scale build-up and the effects of chlorine corrosion for up to 25,000 gallons (94,635 liters) at flow rates up to 2.1 gallons per minute (7.9 liters per minute).

These water filtration systems use a patented valve-in-head design that makes cartridge change-outs simple by shutting off and venting water simultaneously, with no need to stop the upstream feed water. The cartridge design of this water filtration system is a Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) type that uses a simple 1/4 turn and minimizes the possibility of leakage and contamination during cartridge change-outs. The 3/8" FNPT horizontal inlet and outlet ports on this water filtration system provide direct or easily adaptable connections to plumbing lines.

The ICE140-S water filtration system works with select ice makers from Manitowoc, Scotsman, Hoshizaki, Ice-O-Matic and Koolaire for low flow cubers to 1,000 lb (454 kg), high flow cubers to 600 lb (272 kg) and flakers to 1,800 lb (816 kg). The water filtration system has a 0.2 micron rating and an NSF Performance Data Sheet (PDS) is included.
